Then change the extension before uploading I am using ODrive to do my copying to Amazon They do not consider psd files to be images, nor do they include xmp files, all of which are taken from the paltry 5gb any file allowance. My challenge with Amazon 'unlimited storage' is only unlimited for what they consider as an image file. The question really is: do the limitations around 'unlimited' storage dictate in bad ways how I do my backup. Based on long history with them, I do feel reasonably confident that once data gets up there, it should remain available. ![]() On the subject, I have not tried to make use of Amazon for photo storage, did pay the $24 for nearly unlimited music storage and am finding the upload facility to be a bit of a pain. It was, actually, though as the OP you're free to reject it as a non concern for you.īut why resurrect a 2 week old thread to say this? That is not a useful contribution and irrelevant to the topic of the thread. (PS: There are a couple of other threads on this, but they seem to either turn into suggestions for other cloud services or fail to offer a working solution.) I will update this post if I figure out a working solution, but if anyone knows a better way, don't hesitate to share. I have tried setting up with a synchronisation tool like Synkron, but it seems to want to re-sychronise the files every time you run it. To share my findings thus far, the best solution I have figured out for now is mounting the drive using ACDDokanNet and then copying over the newly added files. ![]() My question is, has anyone managed to get any kind of synchronisation with Amazon Cloud to work reasonably well as a part of their backup solution? If so, how did you do it? Now I know that there is the upload application, other services than can do this and a myriad of third-party applications most of which don't seem to do a very good job. The issue is that Amazon unfortunately does not provide an application to sync a folder with its cloud service. Fortunately, this also includes the ability to backup certain RAW files, including those produced by my camera. Amazon Cloud now includes unlimited photo storage for essentially $1 a month or with Prime.
